Carole (McKinley) Connely is a visual artist who creates paintings with oil on canvas. She is primarily recognized for colorful figurative abstractions. Due to a recent visit to England and Scotland she also creates architectural scenes from the UK.

Born and raised in Illinois. Now maintains a residence and studio in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She graduated, with honors, from Kansas City Art Institute.

The preference I like to express in my work is to allow the viewer to become part of the process. Often the figure I depict in my paintings is immersed in an abstract environment. The viewer contributes by offering their own experiences to their interpretation of this. They may discover more than expected at first glance. I also leave portions of my initial charcoal drawing to break through successive layers of paint to let the viewer be aware of the development of the painting. Usually my paintings depict a single personality who acts and reacts to all sorts of stimuli and experiences the end result in mind and spirit.
